I saw Dr. MacKay yesterday. So far, my UTI is responding well to the prescribed antibiotics. Also, my blood platelet count is normal, so the Heparin is doing fine.
My belly is covered in nasty bruises from the Heparin, but I'm getting better at injecting myself. It used to hurt so bad that I cried. Now I just add an ice pack before and after I inject myself. The bruising isn't nearly as bad, and the I cry on fewer occasions. Thank goodness.
Starting next week until I give birth, I will have weekly ultrasounds to check Little Miss Bubba's growth and lung development, to unsure the Heparin is helping.
So far, Dr. MacKay's uterine measurements show the baby is growing on track. Baby Girl's heartbeat is strong and varies quite a lot (this is apparently a good thing). Plus, she moves quite a bit.
Tonight, while doing my injection, the Bubba shoved her foot in the middle of my belly. I saw a little outline of her foot! It was creepy, since I was almost about to inject myself at the very same spot. What if I stuck her?!
Well, I changed my injection site--then she kicked me there immediately thereafter. OUCH.
